In-kind donations raised a total of twelve bags of clothing for men, women children and household beddings and linens. There were several donation of disposable medical items which were loaded in three bags as well.

A total of four thousand five hundred an fifty-eight Dollars and ninety cents ($4,568.90) was raised as cash towards the donation. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to all the community members who in diverse ways went beyond and over their capacities to fund–raise and seek items in their places of work and from friends. We cannot name everybody but the committee is grateful for the support and cooperation and oneness demonstrated in this venture. May God bless us all and may such calamity be avoided in the near future.

EXPENDITURE:

In fulfilling the mandate of the committee, it was finally agreed that for the funds and items solicited reach the intended beneficiaries, we need to collaborate and partner with a local Non-profit/Non-governmental organization on the ground in Sierra Leone to distribute the items on SALNAM’s behalf. Ndegbormei Development Organization Sierra Leone (NDOSL) was agreed on through its affiliate in Winnipeg, Ndegbormei Development Organization Inc. (NDOInc.).  An MOU was developed and signed by both parties prior to the shipping of the items. As a means of proper identification of SALNAM during the process, a standing banner was printed which was sent to Freetown.

The following expenses were made in expediting the donation

  1. Reimbursement for Car wash and Vigil -        $-75.82
  2. Cost of SALNAM Banner (Black Pearl Press) -  $162.73
  3. Cost of Shipment of donation -          $850.00
  4. Cost of Transportation/Rice/Media -   $3,306.50

          Total                                              $4,395.05
